UC San Diego Housing: Fall Room Assignment 2014

Welcome to UC San Diego Housing! Welcome Letters/Emails will be sent out at the end of August with information on move-in. Room assignment information will be accessed online by clicking on the Login button below (assignments are not available until the afternoon of August 27th!).

Please review the important information below as these options may affect your move-in. Don’t forget to print your Qwik-Pass or have it available on your mobile device. It is required for check-in (available when you view your room assignment)!

All students MUST be checked-in by 4:00pm on Tuesday, September 30th, 2014. If you are not arriving until after that date you must contact your College Residential Life Office.

Important Information

Assigned Move-In Date/Time

With your room assignment, students are each given an assigned move-in date and time designed to better regulate traffic flow and avoid crowded conditions on move-in weekend. Students who cannot make their assigned move-in date/time or decide to change this assigned date/time, can do so by clicking on the Change Move-In Date button and selecting a new date/time from the options available (when viewing their room assignment). A confirmation email will be sent to the student’s UC San Diego email address with any changes made to their assigned move-in date/time. The deadline for any changes is Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 8:00pm! No other changes will be permitted after this date. Questions should be directed to your Residential Life Office. Please refer to your Welcome Letter/Email as it will contain specific move-in details!

Please note that your assigned move-in date/time is designed to help make your move-in a smoother process. Any changes to that assigned move-in date/time may result in longer waiting periods for parking, elevators and check-in.

Alternate or Early Move-In Options

We know many students are attending a September Orientation or you may be an international student (new incoming freshman/transfer student or a new incoming EAP reciprocity student) who is required to attend an international student orientation. Check below for your “student type” to see if early arrival options are available to you. Students eligible for an early move-in option will be charged $35/day. The charge for moving in early will be assessed to your housing account in October. All students must be moved-in by Tuesday, September 30th at 4:00pm.

The "Buy Up" Dining Plan

The option to "Buy Up" and add to your Dining Plan is only available before the school year begins. Advantages include a payment plan that is not available throughout the rest of the year. Students in apartments can “Buy Up” to $3,160 or $3,800. Students assigned to residence halls can “Buy Up” to $3,800. When your room assignment information is available, you can select the “Buy Up” option if you would like. The deadline for any changes is Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 8:00pm! Bedspace Assignment

When viewing your room assignment, please note you’ve been assigned to a bedspace (the letter after your room number). View our diagrams of the bedspaces with letters. These are typical layouts for most housing areas. You may contact your Residential Life Office with questions.

Satisfaction First Guarantee For Incoming First-Year and Incoming Transfer Students

We stand behind our Housing and Dining program 100%, which is why we offer incoming first-year students and incoming transfer students a unique guarantee of their “Satisfaction First!”

If you feel our Residential Housing and Dining program does not meet your needs or expectations, you will have from the day you take occupancy this fall until 4pm on Thursday, October 2, 2014 to terminate your Housing Contract. If you terminate within this specific period, you will receive a full refund of your Residential Housing payment, less Dining Plan usage exceeding the prorated amount, any early move-in charges, and be charged a $100 administrative fee. Our “Satisfaction First” guarantee is valid for incoming first-year students and incoming transfer students during the period of time specified and is not available or applicable any other time throughout the duration of your stay on campus. Specific details on your guarantee will be available at your Residential Life Office when you arrive on campus this fall.
